Submission Guidelines

Thank you for your interest in submitting an article for publication in The CIP Report. All submissions should be e-mailed to Christie Jones at cjones62@gmu.edu. Before sending your article, please review our guidelines below and our Upcoming Topics page. To allow adequate time for editing and review, we ask that all articles for a particular topic be submitted by the end of the first week of the month.

Length Constraints

Articles should be approximately 1500 words, but no more than 2000.

Citations

Please use Chicago Style endnotes for all citations. Do not include a bibliography. A quick-guide for the Chicago Manual of Style with examples of common citation formats is available at http://www.chicagomanualofstyle.org/tools_citationguide.html. The notes citation formats are preceded by a number marker.

Author Biographies

Feel free to include a short author biography or organization description of no more than 75 words.

Images

While authors are encouraged to include visual images with their submissions, we ask that you limit the images to those that are illustrative and germane of information presented in the article. If the image has not been created by you, please provide the source of and/or link to the image, preferably including a source citation in the endnotes. For all images not available online, please submit files separately in jpeg or png format, even if the image is also embedded in the text of the article.

If your organization has an internal review process or is subject to a review process due to its association with the federal government, please let us know.
