The CIP Program researchers in Law & Economics attended this enlightening conference hosted by the Cyber Security Industry Alliance (CSIA). The conference focused on the legal implications of IT security. The conference consisted of several speakers, three panel discussions and a mock trial. Some of the speakers included Randy Kahn, Orson Swindle, Daniel Geer, Christine Palmieri and Bruce Nearon. The lunch speaker, Jeffrey B. Ritter, offered an interesting presentation on the emerging relationship between capital and transparency, particularly as regards Chinese, European and American structures, and the use of security as a competitive advantage. The mock trial offered a glimpse of IT security issues in the courtroom setting.
